SODA was originally an infant school built in 1903. Since then, the building has had several incarnations including being a USA Army Barracks, a sheltered workshop for people with disabilities and a plant nursery.

Today it has been transformed into a ceramic studio workshop, separate kiln shed and a studio apartment to accommodate a visiting artist.
